Robert Crotty Biography

When I paint, I feel God's pleasure.*

Robert Crotty grew up Ventura, California with an appreciation for the ocean and California landscapes.  Inspired by parents who dragged him to an endless string of art galleries at a young age, Robert began landscape painting after college art studies in Florence, Italy.  He began his foray into en plein air painting (painting on location) during his travels with prominent artist Kevin Macpherson, and continues to work primarily in the medium of oil on canvas both in and outside of the studio.  His work resides in the collections of Pepperdine University and a number of private collections in southern California.  Robert lives with his wife, Anne Marie, and their two children in Hermosa Beach, California. He is currently available for commissions.
